Happy Yule

I have been mulling over what my next blog spot should be about. I’ve been contending with some anxious nervous energy over the last few weeks – mostly trying to do too many things at once. I’ve been steadily taking trips to value village and working on being present in the moment and letting go. I can feel the old, leaving, making way for the new.

In the fall, I received a lot of requests for tarot readings and I shouldn’t be surprised that ‘The World’ card kept coming up for people. If you are reading this, this is my Yule message for you – rather than having a fear of the future and the world’s new cycle coming up in 2017 (=1)…take time to celebrate your accomplishments and how far you’ve come. Thank those who have been angels for you on your journey and take time to pay it forward.

The World – card, heralds the end of a cycle. In our high-pressure cities, we are jumping from one project to the next, one relationship to another, which only leads to the feeling of getting nowhere fast, bring up fears - we are not in control, and fear of the future. Tap into the World, you can feel the universe supporting you, and you have confidence and faith that whatever choice you make, you are on the right path. You feel it in the seasons, you feel it in the stars, you feel it in the tides, you feel it in the moon cycles, you are part of the dance. Take time to celebrate a project at work. Take time to take your loved ones out for dinner for a job well done. Send thank-you cards. Make it work for others, others will make it work for you. These activities may seem frivolous, I know you're really busy, but the gratitude you show now could be what brings you abundance for the next 9 years!! Please think about it.

The endings we experience when the World comes into play, can be shocking, and make us take stock of what is working, what is not working or more to the point, most things don’t turn out the way we thought they would.  Good grief. It is a time of ‘Judgement’, but don’t be too hard on yourself or others, we’re all doing the best we can. This is a reminder from spirit to be extra kind to yourself, take a bath, buy some new herbal teas, go hug someone you miss.

The ‘World’, is the ‘Hanged Man’ card reversed. With the ‘Hanged Man’, the universe is reminding us that we are not in charge, that the universe/God is our only source of real support, when we have been demanding what we want, when we want it, from who we think owes us. The ‘World’ is the wonderful ownership of co-creating with the universe, when we take full responsibility for everything in our lives, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the confidence to make another choice, and another, and another. You don’t feel like a victim, you feel and own how powerful your thoughts, actions, and prayers are. So much so you want to go dancing! Wishing everyone a wonderful celebration dance! 3941

Developing your Psychic Abilities

Ok, I've heard the call and this is my response.

I believe that we are all psychic to some degree. The same way I was drawn to the tarot, many of my clients are very dependent on their psychic skills, even if they are not consciously aware of it. My main role I find as a consultant is to focus on events in the sitter’s life and channel information I feel called to share. Invariably, most of my clients are interested in developing their own psychic abilities. I am currently working on materials for an ‘Introduction to the Tarot’ class, and an advanced class. These tips would fall under the advanced class activities, but I thought I would share some seeds in developing your own psychic abilities for beginners, based on what I’ve picked up over the years.

1.       Book of Shadows – I think it is important when discovering your psychic abilities to document and journal. For me my notes have taken the forms of a personal tarot and a dream journal. I also jot down random messages I receive throughout the week. I don’t always need to take action on the information I receive, but it helps me stay grounded and reflective on my journey. This has resulted in fine tuning my ‘tools’.

I would invite you to explore your own definition of journaling, it may take the form of a ‘Book of Shadows’, a ‘Dream Journal’, a ‘Gratitude Journal’, or ‘Tarot Journal’. Or all of the above and more!

This instructional video by Psychic Bob Hickman is an invitation to begin your own personal Book of Shadows...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUNXBIHTsvA

2.       Meditation – Prayer is talking to God – and Meditation is listening to God. You may not be comfortable with the term God, Jesus, or Angels. Feel free to explore terminology, books, groups that you feel drawn to. Despite believing in God – I was reluctant to speak to Angels. I asked ‘source’ for ‘help’ talking to angels, and the angels sent overwhelming messages, a host of angels descended and I could ‘hear’ choirs of angels singing. So, I’m down with angels now - eep.

As in day to day life, listening to spirit – or honing your intuition - is a skill and muscle you can learn to serve you in your life and work.

Ottawa resident Pete Bernard, of the 8th Fire School of Shamanism has shared 'The Great Fire Meditation' online. If you are new to meditating you  might want to check out:

3.       Responsibility – With great power, comes great responsibility. If you want to improve accuracy in regards to the psychic information you receive, you must be willing to live your best life and show respect to yourself and others. Bam, accuracy.

4.       Trust – If you are interested in exploring your psychic abilities, I would invite you to explore all the books that are out there. The practitioners you wouldn’t normally go to. Events in your community that focus on light and healing.  Trust, Ask, Receive.

Here are some tips in trusting your bond with spirit communication from James Van Praagh

5.       Environment – I’m amazed how many of my clients with a ‘Sun in Cancer’ do not keep track of the lunar cycles. The seasons, the lunar cycles, our diet, our sleep patterns, all affect our moods, our health, and at times our psychic abilities. I am very much affected by barometric pressure, and living in a valley, I am very much aware that my psychic input is increased when I travel to higher elevations or I am near a vortex. Develop some awareness of your responses to your environment.

Astro.com, allows you to create a ‘guest’ profile, and you can check out how you are affected in different parts of the world – just based on your astrology chart. Yes, yes I DO live on my Saturn line (that was helpful information). http://www.astro.com/cgi/aclch.cgi?btyp=acm&

6.       Grounding, Protection, and Shielding – I’ve left this for last, but it is by far the most important. None of us are perfect, and ‘spirit’ will show up in the most unsavory of situations, but it is important to start to build healthy habits that protect you when you start to delve into the unknown. Like learning to drive a car, using your signal lights, regular maintenance, and checking your tires, there are healthy habits you can incorporate into your daily life, that eventually you don’t have to think about, they will just become automatic.

I could write a book on each of these points, and maybe I will, but I hope they will assist and comfort you as you grown and learn on your own journey. 3800

Bad Childhood Memories

I’ve taken on the challenge of writing a brief note on self-help strategies for self-care surrounding childhood trauma. When I notice a trend in my clients’ sittings, I feel called to share a collective message, as we are all healing for ourselves but also for each other.

Sometimes our subconscious brings up hurtful memories from our childhoods, sometimes for healing, but taken too far, our thoughts and our moods self-sabotage all we could be experiencing today.
So I have a three step process for you to try out.
F
Feel your feelings and let them go. Feelings are here to serve us, the more we avoid and push them away, we invite them to come back with a vengeance. Feel, cry, journal, and try to take responsibility for accepting what has happened. Letting go can be really difficult, and my advice as a reader is to use a visualization technique where you envision that load you are carrying, for an example, a suitcase, put it on the side of the road, thank it for all it has taught you and keep walking.

If you are reliving experiences that were harmful and hurtful to you as a child, and you are re-playing the movie in your mind, you can go back in time in your mind, and say out loud ‘cancel, cancel, cancel’. As you allow yourself to relive these feelings repeatedly you are being as hurtful to yourself as the original perpetrator.

My third tip to overcoming reliving trauma is to tap into your divinity using your mind’s eye. Imagine an image that reminds you of joy and peace in your life. My image is ‘pink roses’. When I think of ‘pink roses’ it takes me back to my Oma's garden, and all the love and joy from those memories instantly call me back to love and light. I keep this image in my back pocket for emergencies, when I feel like my vibration is down or memories from past experiences come back in a way that is not serving.

A final note I will leave you with is a popular quote from the internet, “You are not a tree, if you don’t like where you are leave”. I know this is easier said than done, but if you for whatever reason got yourself into a bad situation, you can get yourself out, I believe in you. This includes what you allow yourself to think about. Thank-you for doing the important work you’ve been called to do. 3581

Blog Entry: 26-07-2016, A New World

So, I’ve been in a variety of wildernesses in the past few years, now am back in my seat, with gratitude for the luxury of time, space and tools to do some writing and reflections on my tarot journey.

What has been foremost in my mind has been the times we are living in and how to summarize what I feel called to share. In alignment with the global consciousness, and although not all of us use the same calendar, I am paying strong attention to the year 2016, which according to numerology adds up to 9, and the year 2017 will bring us into a 1 year, and a new cycle.

The Tarot card for our collective 9 year is the ‘Hermit’, which began January 1st, 2016. If you are reading this, I would invite you to investigate this card. The Hermit - 9 year gives us the opportunity to look at the world over the last eight years, what has worked, what hasn’t worked. Anything that has not worked will slide into oblivion like a great tsunami and only what is serving will remain.

We have been given a year to let go of the old and prepare for the new. If the world was my tarot client I would say prepare, you have been given the time, space, and resources to use all you have learnt in the last 8 years, and to let go of anything that is no longer serving. We will be challenged to give up our bad habits, security blankets, illusions, and similar entitlement feelings to those of High School seniors. Remember how you felt your first day of grade 9, well it’s coming 2017.

The Hermit heralds a time for the world to use wisdom, empower others, sit in reflection, philanthropy and take note of what is working and what is not for things are gonna change, um, like big time. Some rise to the Hermits call of taking on these responsibilities, and as you can see in the news as of late, others flee from these responsibilities. As you let go of the past and are presented with any sudden changes, remember you are going through an upgrade - anything you are reluctant to give up (relationships, habits, property, etc.) you will be given the same or better!  Try to be very, very, very, mindful of what you are thinking and saying out loud, you are creating my world. If you need help to let go, ‘Say out loud, please bring me help to let go’.

I myself am trying to meditate, not just talk about meditation, and have been shown that sleep, diet, health etc. will prepare me for where I need to be emotionally, spiritually, and physically in order to prepare for the new cycle.

As we volt ourselves into an upcoming one year in January, represented by ‘The Magician’ tarot card, we are entering a shocking new cycle. All the good intentions and compassion will be replaced by self-centeredness. Everyone will go from helping their neighbor to looking out for number one. It will be a big shock globally, as countries and communities will be forced to look at themselves and clean up their acts. I see this will be beneficial for aboriginal communities worldwide as they will get the respect and resources they deserve, banking, health care etc.

I see the resources and knowledge that have been shared globally in regards to the medical and technology fields, will have the opportunity to be implemented in the spirit of the gold rush. It will feel like the wild west; a fresh start is an exciting place to be.

My prayer for the world is that we all walk with gratitude, for we will be shown collectively what we don’t appreciate in our one year, that we focus on our health and well-being, as that too will be greatly tested, and finally, we will be forced to clean up the big messes we’ve made, and take steps to create a heaven on earth, while we still can for we are the co-creators. *Taking note that when this was published, my page view total was 3339
